Conjuring all couples wanting to be joined in eternal bliss. Benton County Clerk’s Office is offering Spooktacular marriage civil ceremonies at our Kalapuya Building October 27 through 31.

The Details

A scary twist to our Civil Ceremony option, you can book a ghoulish wedding in our specially decorated undead chapel and let the spine-tingling festivities begin. Ceremonies will be available for the spooking daily at select times listed below. Participation requires a valid State of Oregon-issued marriage license. What if we don’t want a spooky ceremony?

We will have our beautifully decorated Arbor in the lobby, or outside option (weather permitting).

Do I need to provide witnesses?

Ceremonies require two witnesses over the age of 12 to be present for the ceremony. If you are unable to provide those, County witnesses are available for the above-listed fee.

How do I get a marriage license?

You start by going to the marriage license website and filling out the online marriage application (Online Marriage Application). Once the application is completed call our office at 541-766-6831 to schedule an appointment to obtain the license and book your ceremony.

What if I have a license from another County in Oregon

Call the Benton County Clerk’s Office at 541-766-6831, and we will walk you through the process to book an “I Boo!” ceremony.

Are costumes required?

Costumes are not required but always welcome. No full masks please; earthly identities must be verified.

Will the officiant be dressed up?

Yes, the officiant will be attired to match the ambiance of the room.

Can we just walk-in and get married?

Yes, if there is a time slot available for a ceremony, it is possible. You will still need to apply and obtain the license prior to the ceremony being performed. Please allow 90 minutes for the full one-stop-shop experience.
