Dog Licensing
Benton County dog owners must acquire a license for each dog 6 months of age or at time of first rabies vaccination. New residents should license their dog(s) within 30 days of establishing residency. Dog Licenses can be obtained in person, by mail, fax/email, and phone. Our office hours for dog licensing are 8:00 AM to 4:15 PM.

Dog Licensing Fees
We accept cash, check/money orders, or debit/credit cards. Please be advised there is an additional 2.49% convenience fee for all card transactions.

Single Dog License
- One dog
- Requires valid rabies vaccination.
- Discounts for spay/neuter dogs and senior dog owners.
Multiple-Dog License
- For up to 5 dogs.
- Requires valid rabies vaccination for each dog.
- Discounts for spay/neuter dogs and senior dog owners.
- Check local ordinances regarding owning more than one dog.
Blanket Dog License
- For 5 or more dogs.
- Requires valid rabies vaccination for each dog.
- Fixed amount based on length of license.
- Check local ordinances regarding owning more than one dog.
Local Ordinances & Additional Information
We encourage all dog owners to check local ordinance and land use laws if they care for more than one dog. This information can be found by contacting city codes compliance, local law enforcement or development offices. Below are current ordinances known to Benton County at this time.
City of Albany (AMC 6.04.015)
The City of Albany requires all dog owners with more than two dogs to apply for an exception permit. Maximum allowed with permit is four dogs.
