File to be a candidate for Precinct Committeeperson
This office will appear on the May 2028 Primary Election. Contact your local party organization before filing.
- One precinct committeeperson is allotted for every 250 voters, with a minimum of 2 precinct committeepersons per precinct.
- You can file or be nominated in your resident precinct, an adjacent precinct, or any precinct in your State Representative district.
- Write-in votes will only be tallied if the Write-in candidate’s declaration or nomination form has been received by the filing deadline.

In this role, you would:
- Be a representative of the major political party in the precinct.
- Encourage voter registration.
- Vote on official party business.
- Elect county party leadership
- Nominate State Representatives or State Senators when there is a vacancy in one of those offices.

File to be on the Ballot
- First day to file:
September of 2027 - Must be a member of stated party by:
September of 2027 - Last day to file:
March of 2028 - Last day to withdraw:
March of 2028 - Must have 3 votes to be elected.
- Elected candidates will be issued Certificate of Election.
File as a Write-in Candidate
- Filing deadline:
Election Day May of 2028, 8:00 p.m. PT - Must be a member of stated party by:
November of 2027 - Must have 3 write-in votes to be elected.
- Elected candidates will be issued Certificate of Election.
- Elected candidate has attested to serve, so write-in acceptance form will not be issued.
Nominate a Write-in Candidate
- Nomination filing deadline:
Election Day May of 2028, 8:00 p.m. PT - Must be a member of stated party by November of 2027
- Nominator and candidate must be a member of the same party and the same State Representative district, within the same county.
- Must have 3 write-in votes to be elected.
- Elected candidate will be sent a write-in acceptance form.
- Certificate of election will be issued if acceptance form is received by deadline.
