Voter Registration, Updates and Absentee Ballots
Voter Eligibility in Oregon
If you’re a U.S. citizen who has recently moved to Oregon or turned 16, you’re eligible to register to vote here. Whether you’re registering for the first time in Oregon or changing your registration due to a move or name change, you must be:
- A U.S. citizen
- A resident of Oregon
- 16 years of age or older (18 to vote)

Special Voting Circumstances
If you are in the military, a dependent of someone in the armed forces, a student, live overseas or have another special voting circumstance, you may need separate information from the Secretary of State.
Cancel Your Oregon Voter Registration
If you are moving out of state or decide you would no longer be registered to vote in Oregon, you can cancel using the Request to Cancel Voter Registration form. Submit a hard copy to our office in-person, by mail or via email or fax.
