About the Property Value Appeals Board
The job of the Property Value Appeals Board is to:
- Hear petitions for reduction of assessed value, specially assessed value, real market value, maximum assessed value, and corrections to value
- Hear petitions for waiver of real or personal property penalties.
Board members are appointed by the Benton County Board of Commissioners, and terms are usually two years. This board was formerly known as the Board of Property Tax Appeals (BOPTA).
